Here are some Home Decor Myths you need to stop believing in.
Home decor myths are everywhere and when you try to decorate your house, it is obvious that you will fall for them. There are myths about everything but having these home decor myths actually stops you from decorating your own house in your own way. This is why it is important to know which myths are true and which are not. Here are some home decor myths that you need to stop believing in:
MYTH: If you have a small room, it is a no brainer to paint it white or a neutral colour.
REALITY: This is not entirely true as the size of the room has more to do with how you place your furniture compared to what colour you paint it in. Invest in furniture that is minimalistic and leaves ample space to move around even in a small room.
MYTH: If your room is small, use “small furniture to decorate it
REALITY: If you keep using small furniture in rooms and spaces that are small, there is a chance that you won’t be able to use any of the said small furniture that you are placing in the room in an attempt to make it appear bigger. Instead of this, invest in furniture smartly by buying pieces which are useful and room appropriate. It doesn’t matter if the room has only 3 things as long as they are well placed, useful and stylish!
MYTH: Home Decor must be done following all the rules
REALITY: When it comes to decorating your house, it is important that you leave behind all the home decor myths and do it your own way. A house is a reflection of you and your taste and it is also a place where you must feel comfortable and make it your own. So drop all the rules and do what you feel like as long as you love it, it will look good!
Apart from this, there are many home decor myths out there but it is important to know which ones are correct and which ones you should completely ignore!
